Welcome to the Schools Enterprise Euromarché podcast site!
The Schools Enterprise Euromarché July 2006 event will see pupils and teachers from some 200 schools across the North of England showcasing their enterprise, performance and language skills in Newcastle's Grainger Market....all with a continental flavour! The event organisers, the North East Gateway of the National Academy for Gifted and Talented Youth, will create a European feel on Newcastle soil and invite participants to abandon speaking English for a day and use a different European language.
Newcastle
University undergraduates have designed the schools' resource that will
prepare teachers and pupils for the language aspect of their market adventure.
Keen to apply the latest techniques and technology, the Design Team have
collaborated with visiting Erasmus students and the Linguacast Project
to produce this podcast site which now forms the aural component of the
resource.
Although intended for use with the Schools Enterprise Euromarché
learning tool, these recordings can be used by everyone.
They progress within each ‘wordfield’ from basic repetition
to ad-libbed dialogues, tackling Spanish, French and German (so far).
So, whether you are a beginner looking for essential vocabulary or a more
advanced learner these podcasts can form an effective part of your self-paced
learning programme.
Teachers already armed with the Schools Enterprise Euromarché tool will find transcripts and some exercises to go with these recordings in each language section of the folder.
We hope this resource proves useful for you and wish you all the best in your language learning!
